Mega Millions Grand Prize Hits $1 Billion

Friday night’s Mega Millions grand prize has now hit $1 billion, which is the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history. In case you are wondering, the biggest prize came on January 13th, 2016 at $1.6 billion, with Powerball, as three tickets were winners from California, Florida, and Tennessee.

In recent years, lottery officials changed the odds in an effort to lessen the chance of winning a jackpot. That raised the chance for top prizes to be huge.
