Stockton Store Sells Mega Millions Ticket Worth $562K

One very lucky person won $562,472 Tuesday night after they purchased a Mega Millions ticket at a local convenience store.

The ticket, sold at the Country Marketplace on West Charter Way in Stockton, matched all five numbers on the white balls, but didn't get the Mega Number, according to the California State Lottery.

If the unidentified person would have matched the gold ball's Mega Number, they would have won the record-setting $1.5 billion jackpot.

A total of eight tickets in California matched the first five numbers - securing ticket holders $562,472 each.

One ticket was sold in North Carolina that matched all six numbers.

The winning numbers were 5, 28, 62, 65 and 70 and the Mega Ball number was 5.
