Latest Updates on the Woolsey Fire

A third person has died as a result of the destructive Woolsey fire still burning through parts of Ventura County, authorities said Wednesday.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department found a body Tuesday inside an Agoura Hills home destroyed by the blaze. The coroner’s office has not yet identified the person and have not confirmed if the body is that of a man or a woman.

Evacuation orders from the Woolsey Fire are being lifted in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.  Officials say Hidden Hills and the entire city of Calabasas are fully open to residents and businesses as of this morning.  Westlake Village is open on the westside and Agoura Hills opened up impacted areas on Chesebro Road.  The Malibu and Topanga communities remain closed and mandatory evacuations are still in place.

  • A "significant number" of structures have been damaged or destroyed, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

  • Containment is at 47%

Hill Fire: 

Crews are getting the upper hand on the Hill Fire in Southern California. 

It is now 94% contained after burning more than 45-hundred acres.
