Latest Updates on the Woolsey Fire

Two separate wildfires broke out in Ventura County Thursday afternoon, prompting the evacuations of thousands of homes and destroying an unknown number of them, even as the community was reeling from a mass shooting in nearby Thousand Oaks the night before.

So far, the Woolsey Fire has burned 96,314 acres, killed two people and destroyed 435 homes as of Tuesday morning, according to Cal Fire. The blaze is 35% contained.

Hill Fire: 

Crews are getting the upper hand on the Hill Fire in Southern California. 

It is now 90% contained after burning more than 45-hundred acres. 

Point Mugu Naval Base remains evacuated, but people from other areas including Cal State Channel Islands have been allowed back on campus. 

The Hill Fire started last Thursday in the Santa Rosa Valley north of Thousand Oaks.
