U.S. Agriculture and Interior Secretaries in Northern California this week

Ryan Zinke in Paradise

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke are in Northern California through Tuesday.  They met with Camp Fire survivors, firefighters, and Butte County leaders Monday afternoon before being taken to what's left of the town of Paradise.

Tuesday, the Secretaries will meet with California congressmen about the Sites Reservoir Project and a recently-announced $449 million dollar USDA loan that will provide for the transfer of water between the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District and the Tehema-Colusa Canal.  The loan is the largest in the history of the Community Facilities program.

The water storage announcement follows a memo from President Trump aimed at promoting a reliable supply and delivery of water in the state.
