Supply Drive To Benefit Butte County Schools

SCOE Joins Local School Districts in Butte County Classroom Supply Drive
Staff and students working together to help schools devastated by fire

Due to the devastation in Butte County following the Camp Fire, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) and local districts are collaborating with “Helping Teachers - Helping Students” to collect new classroom supplies (dry erase markers, pocket folders, copy paper, glue sticks, post-its, highlighters, no. 2 pencils, tissue boxes, colored pencils) for distribution to teachers and classrooms in Butte County.

WHO: District and school staff, students, and families throughout Sacramento County are invited to drop off new classroom supplies.

WHEN: Beginning Monday, December 10, 2018 through Friday December 14. (Some locations will accept classroom supply donations until the winter break. Contact in advance to confirm.)

WHERE:  Classroom supplies may be dropped off during regular business hours at SCOE’s David P. Meaney Education Center, 10474 Mather Blvd, Mather, CA 95655.

School District Offices confirmed as drop off locations include:

 ·         Elk Grove Unified: 9510 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove

·         Folsom Cordova Unified: 1965 Birkmont Drive, Rancho Cordova

·         Galt Joint Union: 1018 C Street, Suite 210, Galt

·         Robla School District: 5248 Rose Street, Sacramento

·         San Juan Unified: 3738 Walnut Avenue, Carmichael

·         Twin Rivers Unified: 5115 Dudley Blvd., McClellan

Additional district offices and municipalities are joining the classroom supply drive efforts. Check www.weloveourteachers.org for drop off location updates. (A list of locations will be provided and updated daily beginning Dec. 10.)

WHY:  Many schools in Butte County were left with nothing after the Camp Fire roared through. This is a great opportunity for families in Sacramento to help classrooms as they move forward and regroup.
