Bright Light Seen In Skies All Over Northern California

Around 5:35 p.m. Wednesday evening, reports from all around Northern California started pouring in about a streak of light moving through the sky.

Rumors that the light was a Delta IV rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base turned out to be false, as that launch was canceled and moved to tomorrow.

Both Travis Air Force Base and Beale Air Force Base say they were not involved either.

The National Weather Service in Reno and KCRA 3's Mark Finan both have reported that the light in the sky was either a meteor or space debris entering the upper atmosphere.

The Lick Observatory, however, is saying the light in the sky was caused by a meteor.
