Golden 1 Center Begins Meatless Mondays Campaign

Tonight is the beginning of a new program at the Golden 1 Center which will appeal to the vegetarians and vegans in the Sacramento region.  The Meatless Monday campaign offers one new meatless entrée option each week during the year at The Flavor Lab food cart located on the arena Plaza level next to section 109. The first new entrée will be El Pastor Tofu Tacos with Tomatillo Salsa, Cilantro, Onions and Pineapple.

Golden 1 Center’s culinary team, which is led by Executive Chef Brien Kuznicki, will provide those coming to the arena with new hand-crafted and meat-free dishes.

"From the very beginning, Golden 1 Center’s food program was created with sustainability in mind," said Sacramento Kings Chief Operating Office Matina Kolokotronis. "We are excited to continue building our diverse menu by incorporating new meatless options for guests to enjoy at Kings games, concerts and events throughout the year."

The meatless menu will also depend on growers and food suppliers, just like the arena vendors operating throughout the year.  The Golden 1 Center food and beverage program pledges to source 90 percent of ingredients available from within 150 miles of the arena, according to officials.
