Chocolatiers Settle Consumer Complaint

Six California counties, including Yolo and Sacramento, have reached a settlement with two major chocolate manufacturers for allegedly misleading consumers.  Ghirardelli and Russell Stover will pay 750-thousand-dollars in penalties and will change some of its packaging.  A civil complaint alleged the companies violated consumer protection laws.  They used oversized packaging that gave consumers the appearance they were getting more for their money.  Ghirardelli also claimed one of its products contained more cocoa than it actually did.
