Measles Outbreak In Other States A Concern In California

California health officials are concerned by recent outbreaks of the measles in New York and Washington states.

The Sacramento Bee says doctors statewide are on high alert and say an infected person can easily transmit the highly contagious measles. Those same doctors say getting vaccinated offers the best protection, but there is a small percentage of parents who do not believe in vaccinating their children.

Sacramento County's overall vaccination rate for Kindergarteners was 96-percent for the 2017-18 school year.
