Speaker Pelosi Taking Transgender Active-Duty Military Personnel To SOTU

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is bringing two active-duty transgender members of the Army to Tuesday night's State of the Union address. Army Captain Jennifer Peace and Major Ian Brown will accompany the Speaker to President Trump's second address to both houses of Congress.

The California Democrat is among at least five members of Congress to bring transgender service members or veterans. A move widely seen as a rebuke to Trump's proposed ban on transgender people serving openly in the military.
