Costo could be coming to El Dorado Hills. The big box warehouse store has signed a letter of intent with the county to build a store along Highway 50 at Silva Valley Parkway. Before there can be final approval a number of hurdles must be overcome including environmental reviews, traffic studies and a series of meetings for public input.
The proposed new Costco store would be located just 5 miles from their Folsom store. The proposed store in El Dorado Hills could generate millions of dollars in sales tax revenue for El Dorado County which currently sees residents driving into neighboring Sacramento County to shop at the Folsom location.
Costco also has warehouse stores in Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, Sacramento and Roseville.
