A proposed California bill is aiming to stop illegal robocalls. Introduced this week, Senate Bill 208 would put an end to scammers posing as local callers, which the Federal Communications Commission says is key to making robocall scams work.
If signed into law, the bill would require telecommunications providers to implement a system to prevent circumventing caller identification systems by July 1st, 2020.
According to research, by 2021, 40-percent of all calls would be fraudulent calls.
