Mountain Lion Removed From Tree In Hesperia Backyard

A large mountain lion is no longer a danger to a Hesperia neighborhood.

The large cat was spotted Saturday afternoon in a tree outside a home along Danbury Avenue. The homeowner noticed the big cat while working in the yard and immediately called authorities for help.

Authorities tranquilized the lion and social media pictures from San Bernardino County Fire show firefighters securing it into a rescue harness and eventually lowered it safely to the ground, where it was evaluated by a Fish and Wildlife biologist.

The mountain lion was later released to a suitable habitat.
