Man Arrested For Stolen Truck, Evading Cops In Colfax After Fiery Crash

A man is facing charges after a police pursuit in Placer County ended with the fiery crash of an F-350 truck allegedly stolen in the Rocklin area.

Placer County deputies say they got a call for assistance from the California Highway Patrol in their effort to track down the truck, and one of the deputies spotted the truck a short time later. When the deputy tried to pull over the truck, he says the driver took off and led him on a high-speed chase.

The suspect is said to have driven westbound on I-80 through Weimar and into Meadow Vista community, then later he lost control of the truck which rolled over and crashed into a tree near Placer Hills Road and West Weimar Cross Road.

The suspect was tased several times by officers, but still tried to make a run for it before he was tracked down by a Placer Sheriff's K-9.
