84 Arrested, During East Sacramento Demonstration

A march through East Sacramento started around 6:30p Monday night and ended up with 84 arrests, for property damage and unlawful assembly.

The demonstrators were protesting Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert's decision to not charge the officers in the Stephon Clark case and marched through the affluent Fab Forties neighborhood.

Tensions grew on J St in front of Mercy Hospital, where law enforcement issued a warning to disperse or face arrest.

Sacramento mayor Darrell Steinberg voiced his displeasure on Twitter, saying he had many questions, and was disappointed by the way the protest ended. A Sacramento Bee reporter was also arrested.

There is another protest planned for City Hall Tuesday at 5pm.
