Fresh Demands For Change After 23rd Horse Dies At So Cal Race Track

There are now new calls for stricter horse racing regulations after another death at Santa Anita Park. Animal rights activists want Governor Gavin Newsom to investigate.

On Sunday, a horse named Arms Dealer fell during a race and had to be put down. It's the 23rd horse that's died since late December.

The park just re-opened on Friday. Horse veterinarian Doctor Jeff Blea says everyone he works with needs to be proactive. He thinks new regulations put in place last week will take time to show results.
