Three Hurt When Hot Air Balloon Hits Power Line In Yountville

Three people who were among the passengers in a hot air balloon are getting hospital treatment after it hit a power line near Yountville this morning.

Napa County Fire says the massive balloon with 20 passengers aboard clipped the line as it was coming in for a landing about 8:00 a.m. in a vineyard off Ragatz Lane.

The balloon landed without further incident and no one else was hurt, but three people who were hurt reportedly suffered electrical burns. One was airlifted to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento with major injuries. The other two were taken by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Hospital with what were described as minor injuries.
