Auburn police detectives are are investigating counterfeit 20-dollars bills being used by Placer High School students.
The investigators said that as many as ten students have passed or tried to pass the fake 20s at several Auburn businesses as well as at the Placer High cafeteria.
At this point, police say they do not believe the students made the bogus bills, but they have not said if they have any indication of who did.
