A Goat's Eye View of West Sac Bridge District

The goats used along the riverfront in West Sacramento to keep down grasses and other vegetation which can turn into fuel for wildfires in dryer, hotter months are now internet celebrities of sorts.

The City of West Sacramento has a camera attached to one of the animals, so you can experience a day in the life of a firefighting goat.

Some 300 goats can eat an acre of vegetation a day, according to Matt Arrowsmith of Blue Tent Farms, who own them.

The goats will be busy clearing out noxious weeds, black berries, tall wild grasses in various locations in West Sacramento until next month.
