Helicopter crashes into CalPERS-owned building in Manhattan

The 50-story office building where a helicopter has crashed in Manhattan, is partially owned by California's state workers pension fund, CalPERS.

The building was purchased with partner CommonWealth Partners of Los Angeles in 2016, by the California Public Employees’ Retirement System for $1.9 billion.

There has been one confirmed fatality. No one inside the building was hurt.

A fire that had broken out has been extinguished.
