Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Threatened Shooting At Fresno Gay Club

The man accused of making threats on social media against a Fresno gay nightclub has been arrested. The Fresno Police Department announced Monday that investigators were able to identify the user of the fake Facebook account as 28-year-old Jose Lechuga of Selma.

Police were called earlier this month when several posts were made about Fab nightclub. According to one post, the owners of the club "should change it's name to Pulse nightclub since you will share the same fate." The threat was made just days before the three-year anniversary of the deadly Pulse shooting in Orlando, Florida where 49 people were killed by a shooter. The account also had its profile photo as that of the Pulse nightclub shooter Omar Mateen.

Police say that when he was arrested on June 13th, Lechuga admitted to making the threats in response to a viral video showing the mother of his girlfriend outside the Fab nightclub where she was heard yelling profanities at the LGBT community.

A search of Lechuga's home reportedly turned up two shotguns, two semi-automatic handguns, and a large amount of ammunition.

He is facing charges of making terrorist threats and having a concealed firearm in a vehicle. It's not clear if he will also charged with any hate crimes.
