Growers claim a long, cold, and rainy winter season cut into California's crop of avocados. The popularity of avocado toast is also boosting demand for an already limited supply.
However, they say higher prices will be temporary. Prices are expected to drop when Mexico's avocado season reaches its peak in a few weeks.
