Summer heat returns this week in the Sacramento Valley. Forecasters say daytime highs will spike into the triple digits starting Tuesday, and those hot temperatures are expected to continue through Thursday.
The National Weather Service forecasters said high temperatures will range from just under 100 on Monday to 104 by Wednesday. Midweek highs could flirt with all-time records for this time of year.
The heatwave won't last long, though. The forecast calls for weekend highs back down in the upper 80s.
Officials are advising you to take necessary precautions to avoid heat related health issues. That includes staying hydrated, find air conditioning when possible, wear sun glasses and use other sun protection, checking on the elderly and pets.
