Traffic was impacted earlier this morning by a crash involving a big rig and SUV on Highway 99 Southbound near Elk Grove Boulevard. The crash was reported around 3 a.m. and both drivers were taken to the hospital with injuries.
All lanes of traffic were closed in order to clear the crash scene and Caltrans crews kept the right lane closed in order to preform emergency guardrail repairs. They say the road should be fully reopened by noon today.
Traffic could still be moving slow in the area, but drivers can use Interstate 5 as an alternate route.
