Eastbound I-80 to Northbound I-5 and from Northbound I-5 to I-80 will be closed starting on Friday until Monday, around the clock for asphalt and electrical repairs. The closure will start at 10 p.m. Friday, August 16 and will remain closed until around 5 a.m. on Monday, August 19.
Caltrans advises drivers to plan for more time for travel and to be alert while traveling by a work zone. California Highway Patrol will be on site over the weekend helping with traffic enforcement.
Caltrans and CHP have the following recommendations for detours:
From North I-5 to the I-80 connector, take the Arena Boulevard exit (EXIT 524) to turn around on to South I-5 back to Westbound or Eastbound I-80.
From East I-80 to Northbound I-5, take the South I-5 connector to the Richards Boulevard exit (EXIT 520) and turn around to get back onto North I-5.
