Man Dies After Being Shot By Roommate

25-year-old Trey Devaughn Hallman who was arrested for allegedly shooting his roommates.

A man who was in critical condition after being one of three shot in Sacramento County last week has died, say authorities.

Sheriff's deputies caught the man who allegedly shot three people last Friday at a home in south Sacramento. 25-year-old Trey Devaughn Hallman was taken into custody without incident in Antioch later in the afternoon.

This all started when deputies went to the home 10000 block of Clover Ranch Drive in response to a 9-1-1 call from a man who said he was shot by his roommate. When deputies arrived, they found three men in their twenties with gunshot wounds. All three were taken to a hospital for treatment, but one of the men had life-threatening injuries, according Sgt. Tess Deterding with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. Two other men in their 20’s were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not shot.

Hallman left the home prior to deputies' arrival. He was described as armed and dangerous. A witness said Hallman was wearing body armor and carrying a handgun and a rifle, when he left the home. Deputies located a handgun inside the home.

A neighbor told KFBK the shooting happened at a home owned by former Sacramento Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein. KXTV also reported that Cauley-Stein was listed as an owner in a search of property records, though his agent later told the station that he only rented the home. Cauley-Stein is currently a member of the Golden State Warriors, and that organization said the veteran center was not at the home when the shooting took place.
