Bay Area Rattled By 4.5 Earthquake with 26 Aftershocks

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake hit the Bay Area at 10:33pm Monday night, centered in the Walnut Creek/Pleasanton area. That's the largest earthquake to hit that area in over five years. No reports of injuries, just items falling off of people's shelves.

Many felt the quake all over the state, including parts of Sacramento.

26 more aftershocks have happened up until 9am Tuesday, but the USGS Earthquake Science Center says most of those register at zero and are not felt, only register on instruments.

As far as having a major earthquake, USGS reports that it is likely below a 1% chance.
