More Details Come Out In Roseville's Quadruple Murder Case

Roseville police on Tuesday identified the man arrested on suspicion of killing four people as 53-year-old Shankar Hangud. More details in the case were revealed during a Tuesday morning news conference at the Roseville Police Department.

Captain Josh Simon said Hangud showed up at a police station in Mount Shasta Police Department in Siskyou County with a dead body in his car after a better than 200 mile drive.

Hangud admitted to Mount Shasta police that he had killed four people in Roseville, according to Simon. Three victims were found in Hangud's apartment in the 1800 block of Junction Boulevard in addition to male victim found in the car.

"Based on the information we have thus far, it appears the victims are members of the suspects family," Simon added. The names of the victims and details of the killings haven't been released pending autopsies performed by the Placer County Coroner.

"The victims were two adults and two juveniles."

No motive for the killings is being release, since this is still an active investigation. It's also unclear when the killings took place at this point, according to Simon.

Hangud is now being held in the Placer County Jail in Roseville.

Anyone with information about Hangud or his family that may help the investigation is being asked to call the Roseville Police Department at 916-746-1059.
