PG&E Issues Pictures Of Trees On Power Lines To Prove Outage Was Justified

On Wednesday Pacific Gas & Electric once again tried to defend last week's massive power outages, but this time company officials are backing up their claim with pictures.

PG&E has released 12 pictures of trees or branches which had fallen on power lines during the windy weather last week that prompted a Red Flag warning throughout much of Northern California. In one case, a tree was so large it appears to have uprooted a utility pole.

Crews said they have also found over 100 situations involving damage to power lines, and that's about twice the estimate they gave out over the weekend.

The resulting shutoffs affected more than 730-thousand homes and businesses. That translated to a little over two million people.
