The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will not provide relief to renters with temporary moratorium on "no-fault" evictions ahead of a new state law that places a cap on rent. Supervisors Sue Frost and Susan Peters voted against the motion, which required needed a super majority vote to pass.
Constituents who attended the Tuesday afternoon meeting began shouting in anger at Frost and Peters, who both got up an left.
The Sacramento Bee reported last week that 40 tenants were evicted from a Sacramento apartment complex last month. The evictions coming before new state protections kick in and the landlord faced new restrictions.
