The deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California history started one year ago today.
The Camp Fire killed 85 people and destroyed 19,000 homes and buildings, and leveled the town of Paradise.
One year later, it is estimated that 3,000 people have returned to the town with over 200 businesses that have reopened.
This morning at 11:08am, around 1,000 people gathered in Paradise with local officials, to honor every person that was killed in the fire.
The crowd paused for 85 seconds, one second for every person who was killed.
