Santa Rosa Brewery Releases ‘F- PG&E’ Beer-It Backfires

Last week, a Santa Rosa brewery decided to release a new beer called "F-PG&E."

The stunt has backfired to the surprise of the owners.

Shady Oak Barrel House were aiming their beer at the corporation itself, not the hardworking people on the ground, but potential customers didn't see it that way.

Some said they would stop going to the brewery. Shady Oak took a big hit on Yelp, as well.

The brewery has made a statement, saying the intent was to attack the corporation, not the hard working employees on the street.

"I apologize and I would like to take a minute to set the record straight. The name was not intended to go after honest hard-working people that have been and still currently ARE helping our community. It is not to undercut or attack those that have been away from their families in order to serve others in times of recent disasters. The name doesn’t suggest anything remotely like this; however, some people chose to read it this way." Read the full statement below.

The brewery has offered a $2 off a beer to any PG&E employee that gives “an honest Yelp, Google, or Facebook review.” Other customers would get a dollar off.
