California DMV Reportedly Cuts Wait Times In Half

After taking a lot of heat over customer service the California Department of Motor Vehicles appears to be improving.

Wait times are now about half what they were last year. They've come down from average high of 73 minutes to 38 minutes, according to new data reviewed by the Sacramento Bee.

DMV officials are pointing to an increase in staffing and seasonal shifts in customer traffic. However, those same officials are warning that this change may be temporary, and that wait times could go up next year with the approaching deadline for Real ID applications. The Real ID will necessary starting in fall of 2020.
