L-A Asks That Dodgers Be Crowned World Series Champs After Cheating Scandal

The Los Angeles City Council is asking Major League Baseball to award the 2017 and 2018 World Series titles to the Dodgers. The Council approved a resolution Tuesday, following revelations that the Houston Astros used a camera to steal pitching signs during the 2017 series in which they beat the Dodgers. The same coach behind that cheating scandal was then sent to the Boston Red Sox, who beat the Dodgers in 2018. Both teams have been hit with penalties and high-ranking members of their respective organizations were fired.

City officials say it's unusual for a city to ask MLB to strip two teams of their titles and award them to another, but believe in this case, it's warranted.
