U.S. State Department Lifts International Travel Advisory

When COVID-19 lockdowns began in March, the State Department put an international "do not travel" advisory in place. On Thursday, the advisory was lifted with exceptions. The State Department is going back to its standard operation of posting advisories for individual countries instead of a blanket warning.

A statement said, "With health and safety conditions improving in some countries and potentially deteriorating in others, the Department is returning to our previous system of country-specific levels of travel advice. We continue to recommend U.S. citizens exercise caution when traveling abroad due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic.”

U.S. citizens are still banned from traveling to many other countries because of our high level of COVID-19 cases.
