California Recalls N95 Masks Made By Bay Area Company

The state of California is recalling an unspecified number of N95 masks purchased through a $90-million contract with a Santa Clara-based company. The California Department of Public Health is stopping the use and distribution of all masks made by Advoque. The state's contract require the masks be federally inspected and approved, but a recent inspection by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health resulted in the loss of the certification needed to sell the masks.

N95 masks are considered some of the most effective face coverings for protecting against the coronavirus.
