SMUD is asking advertisers not to post signs on utility poles. Nails, staples, tacks, and screws are causing serious injury to line workers who climb the wooden utility power poles every day.
They say this going to be a problem, especially during election season. Nails and staples are obstructing climbing gear, causing workers to slip or fall.
The company adds even the tiniest puncture in rubber gloves is exposing them to severe shock from power lines.
