Los Angeles Coronavirus Testing Sites Could Become Vaccination Sites

Curative, the company helping run Los Angeles County's coronavirus testing, says their sites could double as vaccination centers. Some testing sites are currently also offering flu shots, and a spokeswoman says that's an experiment.

Curative's nine county sites, including Dodger Stadium, would stay up and running once a vaccine is available, and would offer shots along with tests. The company also plans to make the vaccine free and allow people to schedule online appointments, as is the case for testing. However, there would be some added logistical issues at vaccination centers.

Most vaccine candidates require a second dose, and Pfizer's must be stored at extremely cold temperatures. The locations would have to set up software for notifying people of when to return for their next shot. They'd also likely need some sort of on-site refrigeration technology so the doses don't spoil.
