A plan to construct a gas station and strip mall in North Natomas has been shot down. The Sacramento City Council unanimously voted against a proposal by Gateway West LLC of Rocklin to develop lots near Duckhorn Drive and Arena Boulevard off of I-5. Lawyers for Gateway West said they made at least ten revisions to the plan after meeting with community members. They also noted the Planning Commission granted approval. However, Council members said the project didn't fit the city's live-work community development goals. Around 240 homeowners near the proposed site also voice opposition to the project.
