New legislation is aiming to ensure low-income college students are getting fed. Senate Bill 20 would include students in Sacramento and some surrounding counties. The bill is intended to improve student aid forms to identify Cal Fresh eligibility and inform them of benefits.
A California Student Aid Commission survey says almost one in three California college students are facing food and housing insecurity.
