Inmate Featured In Netflix Show Files Lawsuit Against Sac Sheriff

A Sacramento County jail inmate featured in the Netflix show "Jailbirds" is suing the county sheriff's office. Yasmin Sundermeyer filed a civil rights lawsuit this month, claiming that deputies in the jail singled her out after her appearance on the show and beat her while in custody. She appeared in the first episode of the 2019 reality show. Sundermeyer was arrested on suspicion of felony theft at the time the show was being filmed. The sheriff's office has declined to comment on the lawsuit.
