New "Portland Loo" Restroom In Chavez Plaza Reportedly Not Being Kept Up

A standalone "Portland Loo" restroom installed one year ago in downtown Sacramento is being called by some a waste of taxpayer money because it isn't being maintained by city staff. The homeless living in the area, like Lamar Johnson, say the restroom is barely usable because it isn't being cleaned enough.

The city of Sacramento provided this statement: "Based on recent issues of cleanliness, the city has increased cleanings of the facility from once per day to two times per day and will continue to monitor the condition of the 'Portland Loo.'
