Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Case on NCAA Athlete Compensation

College athletes will get their day before the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court plans to hear two cases to decide if colleges should compensate athletes for education-related expenses. An appeals court recently upheld a ruling barring the NCAA from capping player compensation in Division I football and basketball programs. The NCAA appealed the case and it will be argued in 2021 with a decision expected before the end of June.
