Former EDD Employee In Roseville Charged In State's Fraud Investigation

A former EDD employee from Roseville is facing charges in California's massive unemployment fraud investigation.

Andrea Gervais, along with two other women, is accused of filing 100 fake claims, including one in the name of a U.S. Senator. At least 12 of the claims were processed, and more than 200,000 in Pandemic Unemployment Assistance benefits were paid out to Gervais' Roseville address through Bank of America debit cards. She was arrested Tuesday and appeared in court Wednesday. If convicted, she faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
