California Legislature Postpones Return As COVID-19 Cases Surge

The California Legislature is delaying its return to the state Capitol as COVID-19 cases continue to surge across the state. Lawmakers were scheduled to return to Sacramento on January 4, but the return date has been postponed to January 11. Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and Senate President Pro Tempore Toni Atkins say the decision was made to keep members, Legislative staff and all staff in the Capitol safe as coronavirus cases are at an all-time high in California.
