COVID-19 has found its way to California's state-run veterans homes.
The homes had managed to keep infections to a minimum through the year. However, CalVet's eight homes reported 72 active cases as of last week with 33 residents and 39 employees were infected. From March to November, the homes reported an average of between 6-12 cases at any given time. The number of cases began to pick up last month and grew even more this month.
