Scientists Discover Farthest Galaxy In The Universe

Astronomers in Japan have discovered what they believe is the farthest galaxy in the universe.

Scientists at the University of Tokyo say the galaxy GN-Z11 seems to be the farthest detectable galaxy from Earth at 13.4 billion light years, or 134 "nonillion" kilometers - that's 134 followed by 30 zeros. The astronomers admit it's not an easy distance to verify, and said they calculated the distance by figuring out how far the galaxy's light had to travel to reach Earth. They also believe GN-Z11 is the oldest galaxy ever observed.
