President Trump has made a surprise call for a raise in the COVID relief checks.
In a video released Tuesday, Trump said he's asking Congress to amend the coronavirus relief bill passed Monday, and to boost what he called "the ridiculously low" $600 direct payment to each eligible American to $2,000. He also complained about other items in the government funding bill. If Trump vetoes the bill, it could lead to a partial government shutdown at midnight Sunday.
