Sacramento County public health officials will be holding a virtual forum tonight to answer community questions about the COVID vaccine and vaccination process. Public Health Officer Dr. Oliva Kasirye says anyone who lives in Sacramento County is eligible to participate.
Sacramento County Public Health Immunization Program Manager Rachel Allen will also participate in the discussion. Kasirye says some of the topics that will be covered include the differences in coronavirus tests, how reliable they are and information about the vaccine and vaccination schedule. She adds she knows the general public has many questions about the vaccine and when they might receive it.
Currently, Sacramento County is vaccinating in tiers. The first tier includes frontline medical workers, psychiatric and correctional facility hospital staff and residents and staff at senior and assisted-living facilities. The next group in Tier 2 includes staff at intermediate care facilities, in-home health care workers, community health workers and staff at primary care clinics. Kasirye says the schedule depends on the number of vaccines available, and currently they are in extremely limited supply.
Advanced registration is required and you'll be sent a Zoom meeting link once you've pre-registered.
