CA Lawmakers To Resume Session, COVID & Housing Issues At Top Of List

California lawmakers are set to resume their session today with pandemic response and housing issues at the top of the agenda.

Among their urgent priorities, lawmakers are set to discuss bills that limit Governor Gavin Newsom's emergency declarations, extending eviction protections that will expire January 31 and the Employment Development Department's massive fraud case. Last Friday, Newsom proposed a $227 billion budget that would take effect July and is urging lawmakers to act sooner on a number of proposals he says are needed to help the state recover from the COVID-19 crisis.
